1. Review your punctuation notes in preparation for Thursday's test. Come prepared tomorrow with specific questions that you would like answered regarding rules for punctuation that you do not understand.
2. Your grammar notebook will be collected on Thursday. You will need to have all of the pages connected to the punctuation unit to turn in. Be sure that the pages are clearly numbered, in order, stapled together, and include a cover sheet with the title, your name, your class period, and the date prior to entering class on Thursday. Pages to include are 44, 47, 49, 53, 54, 60, 61, 62, 63, 65, 66, 69, 70, 72, 73, 76, 79, 87, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95.

Tonight, you need to revise the edition of the story you brought to class with you today. Using a different color ink, you need to continue the revision process on your episode of dialogue. That means you need to cross words out and write better words, add details to clarify meaning, adjust your speaker tags so that they are descriptive, etc. Then, rewrite your draft so that you have a sloppy copy and a clean copy. Tomorrow, you will need to come to class with the rubric, a sloppy copy, and a clean copy to turn in.

2. Finish reading "The Black Cat" by Poe. Demonstrate active reading:
- Have at least one Post-It on each page of the story. On the Post-It, write a similarity or a difference between "The Black Cat" and "The Tell-Tale Heart."
- Highlight at least three (3), but no more than five (5), words or phrases that you find confusing on each page.
- Write at least three (3) comments, questions, reactions, thoughts, etc. in pen or pencil on the margins of the story. There is no limit to the number of things you can write. There are no 'wrong' questions, reactions, etc.
Remember that I do not expect you to understand every element of the story yet. I expect you to react to what you do understand and ask questions about what you do not understand.
**TicTacToe activity is due on Wed., 10/28, which is also the same day as the Unit 1-3 test.**
