2. Spend about 30 minutes working on the second revision of the Paul Revere memoir. (Spend NO MORE than 30 minutes!! This means you!! :-) This is the focus for your second revision:

• focus on just one event from his life
• do NOT begin by retelling events from his birth, etc - this makes it sound too much like a report
• relate the feelings that you imagine Paul Revere was feeling during the event you choose to focus on
• make readers care about Paul Revere
• tell the story that you would not find in a report or in a text book

Tuesday, November 2, 2010 HW

1. Completed rough draft of your scary story is due on Monday. The final draft will be due on Tuesday, 11/9. You will need to turn in the rough draft (sloppy copy) with evidence on it that you have completed the Editor's Challenge (will be given out in class tomorrow) and the rubric (handed out last Friday) with your final copy. Final copy should be typed, using the correct MLA heading.

2. TicTacToe vocab review is due tomorrow. We have spent 2.5 hours working on this in school, so tonight you should only need to put the finishing touches on it to prepare to turn it in tomorrow. The Unit 1-3 review test is tomorrow.

3. Complete the selection test for "The Tell-Tale Heart."

4. Bring a folder tomorrow because your notebook will be collected in class.

1. U1-3 TicTacToe is due on Wednesday.

2. U1-3 Vocabulary test is on Wednesday.

3. Notebook check on Wednesday. Place all pages in a folder, with the table of contents in front, and your name on the front of the folder. Pages should be complete.

4. Scary story is due on Monday, 11/8. Tonight you should complete the rough draft of the exposition and inciting incident. The exposition should be two paragraphs - one should describe the setting completely and one should describe/introduce EITHER the protagonist OR antagonist. The inciting incident should follow immediately after.

2. U1-3 Vocabulary TicTacToe project is due on Wednesday. You will have time to work on it in class, but you should have 1.5 projects completed at this point. The U1-3 review test will be given on Wednesday.
