- your literature anthology, with your notecards and PostIts attached to or inserted in the story.
- 2 notecards - on notecard #1 should be your bulleted thoughts about the big question - would Charlie have been better off had he never had the operation? On notecard #2 should be 4 conversation questions (more about that in a few bullets)
- 2 large PostIts, attached to appropriate passages that help you support your response to the big question. On the PostIt should be written (A) your bulleted responses to the sample questions and (B) questions that you could ask about the topic to help move the conversation along.
- 3 small PostIts, attached to pages that contain events to which you can make a personal connection. The personal connection can be to a book or story you have read that is related to the event in this story, a news story you may have heard, or a personal experience you may have had. These should connect to and further support your response to the big question.
- 4 questions written on the second notecard that will help the participants think and hone their response to the big question. Three of the questions should connect directly to plot events or characterization. The fourth question should be directed toward the author's craft.
