1. Complete BOTH activities on p. 621 in Writer's Choice. Follow the directions as they are written. Be sure to check your notes from class today, and refer back to pp 603 and 605 as necessary. This assignment will be collected and graded.
2. Complete the center section of the Venn Diagram for the two stories by Poe - "The Tell-Tale Heart" and "The Black Cat". You will need to continue on the back of the page. You should have at least 10 (ten) similarities that you have found between the two stories.

1. Complete pp. 48-50 in vocab workbook.
2. Finish reading "The Black Cat" by Poe. Demonstrate active reading:
- Have at least one Post-It on each page of the story. On the Post-It, write a similarity or a difference between "The Black Cat" and "The Tell-Tale Heart."
- Highlight at least three (3), but no more than five (5), words or phrases that you find confusing on each page.
- Write at least three (3) comments, questions, reactions, thoughts, etc. in pen or pencil on the margins of the story. There is no limit to the number of things you can write. There are no 'wrong' questions, reactions, etc.
Remember that I do not expect you to understand every element of the story yet. I expect you to react to what you do understand and ask questions about what you do not understand.
**TicTacToe activity is due on Wed., 10/28, which is also the same day as the Unit 1-3 test.**
